Digital Payment Technologies to Support Contactless Payments with Release of LUKE II Parking Pay Station
VANCOUVER, British Columbia – May 16, 2011 – Today, Digital Payment Technologies (http://www.digitalpaytech.com) (DPT) announced the support for contactless payments on the new LUKE II parking pay station platform. Consumers will be able to use near-field communications (NFC) enabled phones and contactless credit cards such as Visa PayWave, MasterCard PayPass and American Express ExpressPay to quickly, securely and conveniently complete parking transactions on DPT's LUKE II pay stations.
Contactless credit card payment systems use an embedded chip and antenna to enable consumers to pay for parking by simply waving their card over a reader on the pay station. With contactless payments on the new LUKE II pay stations, consumers will enjoy more convenient transactions that are nearly twice as fast as conventional cash, credit or debit card purchases, allowing them to quickly pay for parking and get to their destination. In addition, while LUKE II has the same secure PCI compliant credit card processing as all DPT pay stations, consumers will have the added assurance of knowing their credit cards will never leave their hands.
